RunStrong Program – Running Strength Training Sutton Coldfield

There is the misconception that in order to be a better runner you should simply run more. Although this is true to some degree, the key is to supplement a running training plan with running strength training to provide a more rounded approach to performance. React Physiotherapy’s RunStrong Program provides runners – both new and more experienced – with the areas that are often missing from their training. The RunStrong Program consists of a 6-week running training workshop, held at our state of the art running clinic in Sutton Coldfield.

Running strength and conditioning training is an integral part of any runner’s training plan. React Physiotherapy’s RunStrong Program was created to provide runners with the opportunity to maximise their training regime with hands on support and guidance from our expert trainers. Headed up by our Performance Coach – Matthew Stephens, the RunStrong Program is designed to provide runners with a running strength training programme that will help to improve their running performance and reduce the risk of injury occurrence/re-occurrence.

6 Week Running Training Workshops – £60 (£10 per session)

What’s involved in the RunStrong Program?

During a 6-week block of semi-custom running training workshops, your dedicated running strength and conditioning coach will work with you on your specific running strength training plan. The 1-hour sessions focus initially on mobility around pelvic mechanics – an area that many runners struggle with – and an area that is closely related to injury risk. The running training workshops then move onto both upper and lower body strengthening which both directly influence running performance. Key exercises will be introduced, which gradually become more and more challenging, ensuring that the runner continues to advance their running training plan.

A successful running strength programme will look at each individual runner’s injury risk prediction. RunStrong focuses on correcting the asymmetries that develop over time in order to limit the potential onset of injury and enable the athlete to maintain peak performance for longer.

The RunStrong Program is held at React Physiotherapy’s state of the art running clinic in Sutton Coldfield.
