Do I need a doctor’s referral?

There is no need to obtain a referral from your doctor. It is however, useful for us to hear background information on your injury or condition so please bring along to your initial assessment any additional information you may have e.g. scan reports, x-rays, details of any medication you are taking.

Does my private health insurance cover me?

We are registered with some of the key private health insurance providers. Please call us on 07595 564 477 to find out if your private health insurance policy covers your treatment with us. The list of providers that we are currently registered with is: AVIVA, AXA PPP, BUPA, CIGNA, Simplyhealth, WPA, VitalityHealth, Police Mutual, CS Healthcare, IPRS and Healix.

If you don’t have private health insurance to cover the cost of your physiotherapy treatment, we hope that you find the cost of our treatments affordable and only ever recommend the necessary number of treatments for your specific needs.

What treatments can you provide?

React Physiotherapy takes a holistic approach to injury rehabilitation and performance enhancement. We will make recommendations on the appropriate treatment techniques based on your individual needs, but examples of these physiotherapy techniques include joint mobilisation, shockwave therapy, sports taping, exercise guidance, deep soft tissue and sports massage, advice and education.

What will happen at my initial assessment?

Our physiotherapist will begin your assessment by understanding what your problem is, and how it affects your daily life or sporting career. The problem area will then be examined in order to make recommendations for a course of treatment. We will work with you and give you a clear explanation of our findings, to reassure you that the recommendations are in line with your personal objectives. We will discuss your aims and agree realistic goals that we will work to achieve together.

How long will my first appointment last and how much will it cost?

Initial assessments last approximately one hour, and involve a detailed assessment of your injury or condition, followed by the appropriate treatment. The total cost for an initial appointment is £65.00.

What about follow-up treatments?

Follow-up treatments last around 30-45 minutes and cost £55.00. The nature of the treatment will vary, depending on the findings of the initial assessment.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

The number and frequency of treatment sessions that you require varies from client to client, and depends very much on the individual presenting condition and recommendations given.

Can you liaise with my consultant on my behalf?

We are more than happy to liaise with your consultant or other health professional (where appropriate) and believe that this collaborative approach is beneficial to your rehabilitation.

What should I wear?

You can wear your usual clothes to your appointment, but just make sure that the problem area can be accessed easily, by bringing shorts etc with you. We would suggest that female clients wear a vest top if their problem is related to the back/shoulder area. Our clients will always be made to feel comfortable during their visits to React Physiotherapy, but chaperones are welcome. We have a separate area for changing.
